Water Canyon, Nevada

If we could, we would put every single one of the pictures that we took today on this blog--they are all really unbelievable!

We got up this morning to take on a rather huge challenge. We wandered up the road to the mountain that shadowed our campsite. It was Water Canyon Mountain. Looked pretty easy to climb but then about 15 minutes into the hike we were both whining. If you look closely you may be able to see our car at the bottom of the mountain in a parking lot. It was three hours of challenge and great exercise. A funny thing happened at the top of the mountain... by the time we finally made it to the very top, climbing over cactus, treacherous terrain, and choking of the dust, we rounded a huge boulder only to notice a freakin' road that lead up to the top! That is Dennis standing on the road! Who knew?

During that trek we encountered two fine men who were the foundation of the Nevada Outdoorsman in Wheelchairs. Check out the pictures and go to www.nvoutdoorsmen.com to see their great work. They took great patience to set up tents with all the accommodations for the disabled outdoorsmen. They provide the equipment and special gear to welcome those in need to enjoy the outdoors. Nigel and Chad, keep up the great work.
