Salt Lake City....When It Rains........

The Salt Lake City Stop was a long overdue and we made the best of it.
We stayed three days, rested, got religion at the Mormon Temple and

raced the Great Salt Flats. Great pictures along the road: Devil Split, weird rock formations, trains and trolleys, and the clouds on the range!

Seriously, we did get a private showing of “Hangover” at the Hill Air Force Base Theater with popcorn AND the day after we had a concert from the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and met the band Mosaic after. WOW, we keep hitting on all eight cylinders and making all the right places at the right time.
Norma spent one whole day making me happy by rearranging all her “crap” (cosmetics, etcetera) so that the car wouldn’t attack us from the back. That was worthy of an extra day stay so that she could have a quality day of rest. We made it to Salt Lake City to partake of PF Changs and on Sunday after the Mormon Tabernacle Choir we had reservations at Buca Di Beppo at the booth in the kitchen. What a treat.

We left this morning on the way out of town to walk the beach at the Great Salt Lake and to take some awesome pictures at an old abandoned trolley car by Saltaire Marina (used to be the largest dance hall in the world in the late 1800’s).

Oh, I forgot to mention the most important event. Norma bought yet another pair of shoes. Okay these were for a worldly cause. They were TOMS shoes.

You know the shoes where you buy one pair and then the company donates another pair to needy children. Honestly, it is for the right reasons, she “wanted” another pair, the kids needed a pair, AND she wouldn’t let Lindsey outdo her in worthy causes. They are red, so watch for them on the blog with the flag…..

Anyway we set up Camp Two Towel at Winnemucca for two days.

We will be eating at cheap tacos at Jack in the Box, hiking a mountain,

and walking a river.

The next stop after that will be Reno, Carson City, Naval Air Station, Fallon, and my favorite, the Mustang Ranch. Look it up. Then to Tahoe to check on our winter workplace at the slopes then to San Francisco. Stay tuned and we will finish our Jim Beam and Cokes. The temp today was 78 and tonight a nice 46 to sleep by under the stars. See you on the next event.
